Corie represents, counsels, and defends employers in a full range of employment law issues and litigation. She has extensive knowledge of federal, state and local prevailing wage laws and ordinances, as well as other wage and hour laws. Corie works closely with management on matters such as accommodations, harassment investigations, discipline and termination issues. She also assists clients with non-compete agreements, contract review, negotiation of contracts, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and shareholder disputes. She is also a qualified neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice.

  • 8th Circuit Court of Appeals
    Won District of Minnesota summary judgment for a three-dimensional (“3-D”) additive manufacturing client, defeating former employee’s claim that he was misclassified as exempt from the FLSA and thus, owed overtime compensation. The decision was affirmed by the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
  • 8th Circuit Court of Appeals
    Successfully obtained dismissal from U.S. District Court, District of Arkansas for general contractor against former employee’s allegations of race discrimination and wrongful termination. The decision was affirmed by the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
  • U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota
    Won summary judgment for non-profit client, defeating former employee’s sexual orientation discrimination, age discrimination, and reprisal allegations.
  • U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota
    Obtained favorable ruling for landscape company based on use of the fluctuating workweek method for the payment of overtime/misclassification, and successfully defended collective action.
  • U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota
    Won summary judgment for food distributor, defeating employee’s sexual discrimination claim based on pregnancy.
  • Hennepin County, Minnesota
    Won summary judgment for flooring company based on employee claims for underpayment of prevailing wages and misclassification of job classification. Decision was affirmed by the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
  • Hennepin County, Minnesota
    Won bench trial on breach of contract claim for work performed by client contractor and unpaid by owner; obtained judgment award in favor of client.
  • Carver County, Minnesota
    Won bench trial, successfully defending client, a truck dealership and maintenance facility, against breach of contract claim and breach of warranty claim.
