Legislative Update

Overview: This seminar will focus on the following:

  • Non-Compete Agreements. (State and Federal). Explains pending state and federal legislation that, if enacted, would make many non-compete agreements unlawful.
  • State-wide Safe and Sick Leave. Explains pending state legislation that, if enacted will require all employers to provide paid sick leave to nearly all employees, and would provide certain protections to employees for using paid sick leave.
  • State-Funded Family and Medical Leave. Explains pending state legislation that, if enacted, would establish a state-run program for paid Family and Medical Leave for employees working in Minnesota.
  • Legalized Cannabis. Explains employment-related implications of pending state legislation that, if enacted, would legalize adult use and possession of cannabis under Minnesota state law.
